Sophie Turner adopted her direwolf from ‘Game Of Thrones’

Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner has adopted her character’s dog after falling in love with the pooch on-set.

direwolfThe 17-year-old Brit plays “Sansa Stark,” who is accompanied by her pet wolf, “Lady,” on the show.

After the animal was written out of the gory fantasy series, handlers in charge of the performing dog, whose real name is “Zunni,” were looking to re-home her – and Turner jumped at the chance to become her real-life owner.

Zunni is actually a Mahlek Northern Inuit dog.

She tells Britain’s Coventry Telegraph newspaper, “Growing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one. We kind of fell in love with my character’s dire wolf, Lady, on set.”

“We knew Lady died (onscreen) and they wanted to re-home her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her.”
